Lack of Miranda warnings does not make arrest illegal

Posted March 11, 2013 by Alex H. Morrow

Many people believe that an arrest is not legal if the suspect is not given his or her Miranda warnings at the time of arrest.  That is not true. Miranda warnings are only required to be given by law enforcement officers if they intend to question a criminal suspect after he or she has been subjected to a custodial arrest.
